Distilling with Elder Flower Botanical.

Elder Flower Botanical

Begin by preparing the equipment and elder flower ingredients. You will require a large pot or container, a still, an alcoholmeter, a fermentation container, sugar and elder flower petals.

Firstly, fill the large pot or container with water and bring it to a boil.

Secondly, place the still on top of the large pot or container, making sure to attach it securely. Then, fill the still with the botanical petals.

Placing a fermentation container under the still, then close the lid of the still and turn on the heat.

Once the mixture begins to boil, slowly add the sugar and stir the mixture until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Botanical!

Turn off the heat and move the still away from the pot or container.

Let the mixture cool down for about 45 minutes.

Place the alcoholmeter into the mixture and let it sit for 1 hour.

Check the alcoholmeter and remove the still from the mixture.

Allowing the mixture to continue to cool for several hours, or overnight.

Filter the mixture through a clean cloth and pour it into an airtight container.

Store the distilled elderflower in a cool, dark place and enjoy!
